Documentation

Conservators employ two kinds of documentation: written and photographic. Both of them are used to describe and keep record of the procedures made to the piece during the treatment.

Written
The written documentation narrates all the procedures made by the conservator. Step by step and how the piece is reacting to the procedures.

Photography
Photography is used through the entire process to evidence the treatment. It is also used in the beginning to document the condition and at the end to capture the final result.
